In Kansas, agriculture is king. Our roots are connected to the landand crops harvested from the soil. Join us for this month’s History on Tap night as journalist and agricultural historian Cindy Higgins highlights Kansas and the rise of “Truck Farming” culture in Shawnee and the surrounding region. From commercial specialty crops to agriculture experimentation, horticultural “royalty” marketing, and the evolving local foods movement, Kansas has a fascinating agricultural history and legacy that continues to impact the nation today.
