Power and Light USA

Kansas City's medal-worthy restaurants and events

It’s time once again for the best athletes in the world to compete for their countries, each one hoping to bring home the gold.

In 2024, Kansas City has several hometown heroes to cheer for. KC Current players are taking the pitch in Paris, and local gymnasts are hitting the mat, among others.

To get in the spirit for the games, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a Parisian-inspired meal, cheer on Team USA at a watch party, or even compete for your own medal in a bar crawl.

Medal-worthy moments

Watch the Opening Ceremony at Cinder Block Brewery’s watch party in North Kansas City. The brewery will have live music, food trucks, freebies and fun for all ages.

Grab your friends and join the Going for Gold Bar Crawl on Aug. 3 at KC Live! Block. Teams will compete in games like water pong, flip cup, putt-putt and more to win prizes. Admission is free; but make sure to snag a ticket here.

Looking for a more relaxed environment? Watch the games on the big screen in the Loews Kansas City Hotel lobby while enjoying their new cocktail at Bar Stillwell. “The Paris of the Plains,” an ode to a famous Kansas City nickname, features J. Rieger rye whiskey and is topped with rosemary symbolizing the traditional Grecian wreath.
